Defensive Driving Class

Defensive Driving classes are often required by the court system to be completed as a condition of a ticket or moving violation but there are many other reasons the course should be taken as well including points reduction, insurance reduction or to have a driver's license reinstated. North Metro Traffic School offers the State certified program for these and other reasons as well more than anyone else in our area.

Per Georgia law, all State defensive driving classes are given in-person by a professional instructor and must cost $75 and last a total of 6 hours.

The course focuses on safety and provides the knowledge and safe driving techniques to help prevent collisions and reduce the likelyhood of committing a violation. Our instructors will teach accident prevention through hazard recognition and application of collision-avoidance techniques. DUI Risk Reduction Program

This class is an educational program mandated by Georgia law for people convicted of Driving Under the Influence (DUI), possession of illegal drugs, underage possession of alcohol while operating a motor vehicle, Boating Under the Influence (BUI) or various other offenses.

This course is composed of two components. The Assessment Component and the 20-hour classroom program.  The total fee for both components is $292 which is set by Georgia law. You may pay for the components separately but the full amount must be in our office before you can attend class.

** PLEASE BE AWARE**

By law, every student must complete the pre-class assessment & pay at least the $82 before becoming enrolled in the 20 hour class. We must have everything paid in full and all of your information in the computer by close of business on Friday before a Saturday class start or if the DUI class starts on a Friday, we must have everything in the system by at least 5:00 p.m. before the class starts.

*If you plan on coming in before class starts on the same Friday to take your assessment, you must arrive at the school by at least 4:30 p.m. or you will not be able to take the assessment for the class starting that same night. It is a Georgia Law that your information from the assessment be entered into our system before class begins.**

Upon completion of the class you will receive a State of Georgia “Certificate of Completion,” to verify your completion of the class that can be used in any court or probation facility in the State.

Also, please be aware that beginning July 1, 2009, all students must complete the 20 DUI class before having a Drug and Alcohol evaluation done.

Victim Impact Panels

We offer drug and alcohol Victim Impact Panels once a month on Friday evenings from  from 7:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.

Designed by experts to help reduce drunk driving accidents and other drug and alcohol incidents around our community, our panels are informative, engaging and helpful.

Every Victim Impact Panel includes special guest speakers that have been chosen through a national organization and are experienced and professional. Educational videos, activities, discussions and a question and answer session is also part of the 2 hour program.

The goal of our program is to help individuals understand the consequences that their choices can have on others if and when they use alcohol or drugs. This thought provoking program is a great tool and the vast majority of participants come away from our panel with a better understanding of their own situation and how to make better decisions in an effort to change their own lives.

Our facility is new, comfortable, convenient and we provide free coffee, tea, hot chocolate along with full service vending options as part of every panel as well. If you are looking for a nice and professional place to attend your Victim Impact Panel, we are the place for you.

Once you have completed the session, you will be issued a certificate of completion, a compliance letter for the court or your probation officer and our program will keep confidential records of your attendance on file for three years for your convenience.

Online Joshua's Law

North Metro Traffic School offers the 30 hour classroom and online course required by the State of Georiga for all new drivers to take before obtaining their class D license, ONLINE. We are one of the few State approved driving schools to offer an online version of the Joshua's Law program. You will receive the same certificate of completion as you would if you took the program in person.
