License Reinstatement

If your license has been suspended and the time period in which your license suspension has ended, you can go to certain Georgia Department of Driver Services locations to request to have your driving privileges reinstated.

In most cases, the completion of the Defensive Driving Class like the one we offer is a prerequisite and mandatory in order to complete the reinstatement. 

Also, please be aware that not all Department offices have the capability to offer reinstatements. Check with them before hand to ensure they can help and to find an office near you. 

In Georgia, the reinstatement fee for most situations is $210. A full payment is required to get your license back. 

You may also write a letter to Georgia Department of Driver Services requesting to have your license reinstated as well. Send your full name, license number, date of birth and signature and the reason for your letter to the main office in Conyers, Georgia. You may want to call ahead to find out if there is any additional they will need from you.

Defensive Driving Class

Defensive Driving classes are often required by the court system to be completed as a condition of a speeding ticket or similar moving violation but there are many other reasons the State of Georgia requires this 6 hour class.  Other reasons include points reduction, insurance reduction or to have a driver's license reinstated.

North Metro Traffic School is regulated by the Georgia Department of Driver Services and we offer State Defensive Driving program at least twice every week for your convenience.  We offer one class every week and weekend and now twice a month the class is held on a Sunday. No other school in Georgia holds or teaches more Defensive Driving students than North Metro Traffic School.

Per Georgia law, all State defensive driving classes are given in-person by a professional instructor and must cost $75 and last a total of 6 hours. So, if you are looking for the largest and nicest Defensive Driving school in Georgia we are your best choice.

The course focuses on safety and provides the knowledge and safe driving techniques to help prevent collisions and reduce the likelyhood of committing a violation. Our instructors will teach accident prevention through hazard recognition and application of collision-avoidance techniques. DUI Risk Reduction Program

This class is an educational program mandated by Georgia law for people convicted of Driving Under the Influence (DUI), possession of illegal drugs, underage possession of alcohol, (MIP) underage possession of alcohol while operating a motor vehicle, Boating Under the Influence (BUI) and various other offenses.

North Metro Traffic School offers and holds more DUI school classes than any other traffic school in Georgia.  To meet your needs, the 20 hour Risk Reduction program is held twice every week.  One class is held during the week and one class every weekend.  We are conveniently located and easy to get to from anywhere in the Metro Atlanta area.

This course is composed of two components. The Assessment Component and the 20-hour classroom program.  The total fee for both components is $292 which is set by Georgia law. You may pay for the components separately but the full amount must be paid in our office before you can attend class.

Interlock Device Installation

If you or someone you know needs to have an Interlock Device installed on a vehicle, North Metro Traffic School is able to help. We work with several interlock device companies to help offenders get back on the road. Because of our agreement with our Interlock Device companies, they have locations throughout Georgia so all you need to do is tell us a convenient area and we will be able to provide you with the location of the closest service center.  All fees are set by the State of Georgia and the amount of time you need to have an Interlock Device installed in your vehicle will be determined by the court and your individual case.

Pricing for interlock devices is set by Georgia Law.
Installation is $75
Security deposit is $75
Theft protection is $35 for 6 months or $5 at install and with each lease payment. 
Total Installation is $155

Monthly Monitoring fees are set at $75 plus tax.

Victim Impact Panels

We offer drug and alcohol Victim Impact Panels twice a month on Thursday or Friday evenings from  from 7:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.

Designed by experts to help reduce drunk driving accidents and other drug and alcohol incidents around our community, our panels are informative, engaging and helpful.

Every Victim Impact Panel includes special guest speakers that have been chosen through a national organization and are experienced and professional. Educational videos, activities, discussions and a question and answer session is also part of the 2 hour program.
