HELPFUL TIPS ON HOW TO FIND THE RIGHT DUI SCHOOL FOR YOU

ATLANTA, GA - November 28, 2008 - If you have been convicted or arrested for a DUI in the State of Georgia, you will most likely be ordered to attend a 20-hour Risk Reduction class, otherwise known as DUI School. The class will be held at a local driving school that is privately owned but overseen and highly regulated by the Georgia Department of Driver Services.

Here are a few things you should know and consider when choosing a school to attend. A State regulated DUI course must only cost a total of $287 and consist of two components, a short pre-class assessment and 20-hours of classroom instruction. Assessments are given prior to class and usually take about 30 minutes to complete. Here students must answer a series of questions regarding his or her involvement with drugs and alcohol. The results of the test will be discussed during an activity in class. Once the assessment is complete, you may then attend the 20-hour course which are usually held over four consecutive days.

The classroom curriculum Georgia uses is really informative and entertaining. Most students come away from class learning much more than they ever expected. Also, the program is well written and designed so that interaction is not uncomfortable but rewarding and can be a lot of fun.

That said, every school and every class is not the same and there are some major differences you should consider. It is up to you to find the best school possible.
As in any class, the instructor here to plays a key role in keeping the program interesting and getting everyone involved so you might want to ask a few questions about the teacher before signing up. Fortunately, because of the large number of DUI and driving schools in Georgia, there are a lot of DUI instructors but each particular school must choose and maintain the best instructors they can which can be quite difficult.

Another major factor that differentiates one school from the next are its facilities. When choosing a DUI or Risk Reduction program, be sure to check where the classes are going to be held. Since you will be spending 20 plus hours in the classroom, you will want to know that the facility is clean, updated and comfortable. Unfortunately, many DUI schools in Atlanta have been around for years and sometimes, little or no upkeep has been done and subsequently, many are just not that nice anymore. This can ruin your whole experience so be careful and make sure the school you choose is in a good area of town, looks clean and well maintained. It may be worth an extra 10 minutes in the car instead of hours and hours in a run down room.

In conclusion, here are a few things to remember when choosing a driving school in Atlanta. First, see if the school has a website and be sure there are pictures of the facility. This will allow you to see if the school is actually well kept and where it is located. Secondly, when you call, be sure the staff is polite, professional and knowledgeable because you will not want to have to take the class over because of something you did not know. Finally, don’t sweat the class too much. It is not that bad and you will probably learn something that could change your life. You never know.
