What is ASAM Level 1

ASAM Level 1

ASAM (American Society of Addiction Medicine) Level 1 Group Sessions are regularly scheduled meetings with a certified counselor and other clients who share your same desire to achieve recovery from addiction to drugs and/or alcohol.

Group counseling provides individuals with a unique opportunity to share their stories with others and benefit from the input of others. Group members come from all walks of life and have varied reasons as to why they are attending sessions, making each day's conversations different from the rest.  The counselors can be beneficial in supplying information to help clients gain knowledge to make better decisions in their daily lives.  Alcohol and drug group counseling is one of the most widely used forms of treatment and Georgia continues to use ASAM level 1 treatment for many of it’s DUI offenders.
